One of hip hop’s mysteries may have been solved. This week on the Highly Questionable, Fat Joe made a guest appearance and dropped a bomb about Biggie’s classic “I Got A Story to Tell”. Bomani Jones and Dan Le Batard, hosts of the ESPN show, were able to get the truth out of the Terror squad rapper. Below you can find the link to the song and the video of Fat Joe’s confirmation.
In The Notorious B.I.G.’s 1997 song, the rapper describes having a sexual relationship with a woman who was dating a Knicks player but never mentions a name. As he tells the story, he details how he pulled a gun on the player and robbed him after being caught with his chick. Fat Joe, who was a close friend to the late Brooklyn rapper, reveals that the 6’5 Knicks player in question was Anthony Mason, who died last year at the age of 48.
It’s been two decades since the release of the song and though we don’t have B.I.G. or Mason to confirm the allegations, we might just have to take Joe’s word on it. Many speculated it was John Starks or Hubert Davis but music and sports fans can put this debate to rest after all these years.
